The last few albums I reviewed all came out in 2007, and I was late to getting into them. Not the case with this man. For past week I have anxiously checked my mailbox for this album. I pre-ordered a month ago and continually got more and more excited with every song I heard off the album. The man is genius, he writes these incredibly intricate beautiful songs. He plays every instrument on his records. Piano, cello, guitar, drums, bass etc. He plays each instrument so well. The music is strongly piano based with strings coming in from each angle. The drums are fast and played much like the band Mute Math. Songs like “Portrait” and “Hide and Seek” have some of best written instrumental arrangements I have ever heard. Amazing piano accompanied by hauting strings. It’s perfect fall music just to listen with and reflect. Songs like “Purgatory” and “foot steps” get you drumming on anything hard that may be close to you. Seriously give this man a try go to the below links and listen to some of his stuff.
